Preservation of Affordable Housing and the Melville Charitable Trust will celebrate the completion of renovations at Billings Forge, a 113-unit mixed-income apartment complex located in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford. The renovations to the main mill building are beautifully executed according to historic preservation requirements that honor the cherished history of this building constructed as a tool plant in 1864. The upgrades improve the quality of the apartments while preserving affordable homes for the community.
In addition to the renovated housing, Billings Forge offers residents a community impact program which complements the activities offered by Billings Forge Community Works. In partnership with the Melville Charitable Trust, POAH will be launching a new Family Self-Sufficiency Program at Billings Forge that will help residents achieve economic security.
